CORPORATE PROFILE
Caucasus Energy & Infrastructure (CEI) is a joint stock company organised in compliance with the Georgian legislation. CEI invests in Georgian, Armenian and Azerbaijani companies engaged in the production, transmission and distribution of gas and electricity, as well as the extraction, distribution and marketing of crude oil and oil products. Moreover the company is involved in water utilities, cargo warehousing and logistics, toll roads, waste management and recycling, as well as in various carbon emission trade-related activities.
The Company seeks, where appropriate, to co-invest with the reputable financial or strategic investors, or purchase significant minority stakes in established businesses. In all cases, CEI intents to add value by helping portfolio companies refine strategy, streamline management processes, enhance financial reporting and transparency, obtain debt funding from Bank of Georgia and other sources, leverage distribution and other operating synergies with other Bank of Georgia group companies and groom the companies for possible floatation or trade sale.
Company currently represents the sole investable vehicle admitted to trading on the Georgian Stock Exchange (the “GSE”), which offers investors a broad exposure to the energy and infrastructure segments of the economy in Transcaucasia. The main market for CEI shares is GSE, where the company trades under the ticker NRGY. In March 2008, CEI issued its first Euroclearable GDRs, with 1 GDR representing 10 ordinary shares.
